Hertfordshire is a county directly north of London, technically in the East of England the county is bordered by Buckinghamshire to the west, Bedfordshire to the north, and Cambridgeshire and Essex to the east.
With a strong Roman history, particularly in St Albans, the county as a whole is oozing in history. There are many beautiful country houses such as Knebworth House and Hatfield House, and due to its proximity to London there are a number of recognisable filming locations.
Hertfordshire is home to one of England’s most popular tourist destinations, the Harry Potter Studio Tour at Leavesden Studios outside Watford (a great town if you like shopping!).
Sprinkled in pretty villages and dotted with market towns, Hertfordshire is a pretty county, especially in the west where it marks the start of the Chiltern Hills.
